Most of you have heard about the devastating fire in downtown Tappahannock on Friday, July15th. It is a scene you do not want to remember.
Rotarians will do our part to support in an equitable way those victims in need. One of those victims is our own Rotarian Maria Esquer who hosted our first club meeting on Thursday evening at the Prince Street Café. Like the other victims, she is soldiering this devastation.
Fellow Tappahannock and Essex County Citizens, we ask each of you to make a generous contribution to our local Rotary Foundation which offer fully tax deductible donations under 501c3. Based on the confirmation of contributions, we will announce the availability of need base funds for the victims.
Please encourage your family and friends to also support the cause. Contributions should be made by clicking on the donation link below. While this is preferred, checks are acceptable; should be made payable to the Tappahannock Rotary Foundation (designate: Tappahannock Fire Victims); and mail to the Tappahannock Rotary, P.O. Box 2672, Tappahannock, VA 22560.
We have appointed a Fire Victims Adhoc Committee to decide criteria and promote the Relief Fund Announcement and Relief Fund Application.
The following Rotarians have been appointed to serve on the Fire Victims Adhoc Committee:
Victor Burrell Meredith Trible Steve Whatley
Your immediate response is most graciously appreciated. Remember, Service Above Self.
